I had the privilege of capturing a very important moment in a family's life...the accomplishment of becoming a college graduate. What made this session even more exciting was who the graduate was. Not very often do parents get to celebrate their OWN accomplishments. Parents lives are centered around the little minis; from the first steps of their lives, to the steps across the stage accepting a diploma. What better way to celebrate this astounding academic achievement, not only as a student, but ALSO as a parent, then to commemorate this accomplishment together with your family!
This beautiful family was so much fun to work with! And this Parent Student has some great words of encouragement and advice out there to all the family's juggling parenthood and student-hood on how he survived the juggling-act.
What has been the hardest obstacle you have faced as a student parent?
"The hardest obstacle that I have faced as a student parent has been time management. I have had to ensure that my time is equally divided between my studies and family. This can be very difficult at times and can cause added stress and frustration. I have tried to also include my family in school functions."
How did you overcome that?
"I have overcome my challenges by communicating with my wife on a daily and weekly basis. Things may not always go as planned but, we constantly try to make sure that our family is aware of important upcoming events"
I know many of us can relate to the hard work this family puts into in their work, education, and quality family time. I'm so happy I was a part of their celebration! You can feel the pride, joy, and love in each photograph! Here are just a few of my absolute favorites captured at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Go Huskies!
